Discover the historic and beautiful gardens at Madingley Hall. Open to visitors most days from 10am to 3pm, these gardens offer a tranquil escape just outside Cambridge. Explore centuries of landscape design, from formal Dutch-style gardens to sweeping parkland created by Lancelot 'Capability' Brown, and enjoy features such as the North Garden's Edwardian terraces, the Croquet Lawn, Yew Topiary Gardens, and the vibrant Courtyard filled with alpines and perennials.
Visiting Information:
- Visitors are welcome to stroll through the gardens and enjoy the winding gravel paths, meadows, and diverse plant collections.
- Suggested donation of £5 per visit, payable in the entrance porch or online. Donations help preserve and enhance the gardens for future generations.
- Toilets are available inside the front door.
- Tea, coffee, and light refreshments are served in the Terrace Bar.
- Picnics, games, and radios are not permitted in the grounds.
- The Hall itself is not open to the public.
- The gardens participate in the National Garden Scheme and Open Cambridge events annually.
