
FaME is a 20-week programme that consists of both physical activity and wellbeing support from our fully qualified team. You will also be invited to our specialist information sessions and offered a simple physical assessment to help you monitor your progress. There is no charge for this service to Medway residents. Carers are welcome to join in too.
Suitable for people living with:
- Musculoskeletal conditions (not currently undergoing treatment)
- Fear of falling (or has had a previous fall)
- Osteoarthritis, Osteopenia, Osteoporosis
- Fibromyalgia, Rheumatoid arthritis
- Follow-on from Cardiac, Pulmonary, Cancer or Stroke rehab
- Diabetes
- Parkinsons and other neurological disease
- Sensory impairment
- Low mood
- Sleep Apnoea
- Menopause or peri-menopause symptoms
*Please note participants will be asked to complete a health screening and may require GP referral to participate.
We deliver two levels of class which are:
Ready Steady Walk
Entry criteria = Stand for 5 minutes, walk for 2 minutes (with or without aid)
Strength and balance exercises using a chair for different levels of support, either seated, standing or walking (you chose)
Stronger for Longer
Entry criteria = Stand for 20 minutes and walk for 10 minutes (with or without aid)
A standing rehabilitation class for those who want to return to their previous activity levels, or are new to physical activity and don't know where to start
