HI Friends Rec Monday Club offers a welcoming space for older people and those recovering from illness to enjoy a range of fitness and wellbeing activities every Monday at the Rec Centre. Delivered in partnership with PosAbility, sessions are led by experienced instructors and designed to support physical health, memory, and social connection.
- 10-11.15am: Stronger for Longer – Enjoy gentle, chair-based exercises (seated and standing) in a friendly group, followed by a cup of tea or coffee. Cost: £6 per week (includes a drink).
- 11.30am-1.30pm: Specialist Exercise Activities – Tailored for those recovering from stroke or living with long-term conditions (e.g. Parkinson's, MS). Includes chair-based exercise, balance and resistance work, coordination and memory skills, speech and conversation. Cost: £14 per week (includes a drink).
- 1.45-3pm: Memory and Coordination Class – Exercises to help improve memory and coordination, led by professional instructors, plus a cup of tea or coffee. Cost: £6 per week (includes a drink).
Transport to the club can be arranged locally via the Community Minibus.
