At MCA we believe in the power of community events to foster friendships, reduce isolation and create a sense of belonging. Throughout the year, we host a variety of events that bring together people of all ages to share joyful moments and memories.
Our annual Santa’s Grotto and Christmas Fair promotes intergenerational social connection within the community. By bringing together children, families, and older adults, we aim to promote friendships and reduce social isolation. Creating a space for shared experiences helps strengthen a sense of belonging in Mortlake and builds resilience among our community members.
Once a year Mortlake Community Singers will treat MCA members and the wider community to their annual festive Christmas Concert. It is a great way to celebrate the festive season especially because we all gather for mince pie and mulled wine after the concert.
Once a year St Mary the Virgin and MCA joins forces and hosts the annual St Mary’s Summer Garden Party. Guests can enjoy delicious homemade cakes, teas, and live music in a delightful atmosphere.
Your Community Centre Week
The event highlights 10 independent centres in the borough that play a vital role in enhancing community life. These centres offer a wide range of services, activities, support and facilities. Throughout Your Community Centre Week various activities are on offer. As part of the festivities, you can join a tour of your local area in a Vintage Routemaster Bus with delicious cream tea and live music included.
In the past we have organised exciting community events such as: Intergenerational Board Game Afternoon in partnership with the 2nd Mortlake Scout Group (Nov 2024) Coronation Tea Party (May 2023) and Summer Picnic with the famous Mechanical Dragon (June 2023).
