Creative mindfulness sessions - Neurodiversity support

Creative Mindfulness sessions provide an environment within which people can focus their minds on creative activities and benefit from the mindfulness experience. We deliver of a range of creative activities. There is a focus on therapeutic benefits of the process instead of the finished pieces.

  • for adults (18+) with one or more neurodiverse conditions (diagnosed or undiagnosed) or adults (18+) connected to someone with a neurodiverse condition, such as a parent, partner, friend or colleague
  • friendly and understanding staff with lived experience of neurodiversity and mental health
  • relaxed and calm environment
  • tailored support for individual needs, interests and learning styles

Sessions support self-exploration, self-expression and promote inclusion within the small groups. The sessions are relaxed and informal, which encourages conversations between participants and with the professional creative facilitators. Conversations may centre on experiences of neurodiversity or mental wellbeing, but a sense of belonging and inclusion is the most important aspect of the groups.

Creative facilitators will typically have lived experience of neurodiversity/ mental health and will always be accompanied by a professional neurodiversity/ mental health coach to ensure everyone is supported throughout.

Everyone in attendance is either neurodivergent themselves, or has a close family member who is neurodivergent, so there is an atmosphere of acceptance and understanding amongst us all. Materials are provided along with refreshments. People can bring their own creative activities if they choose.

Sessions run on Wednesday and Saturday mornings 10:30am-12:30am at our premises based at Stoughton Grange Rural Centre, Gartree Road, Oadby, Leicester, LE2 2FB. There is ample free parking on site.
