Join us in restoring nature at Miterdale!
We welcome volunteers who want to help create a diverse mosaic of habitats in the beautiful Miterdale valley. Our activities change with the seasons, so there’s always something new to get involved with. Whether you’re passionate about conservation, enjoy working outdoors, or want to learn new skills, we’d love to have you join us.
- Tree planting: Help us plant native trees across the valley, especially in autumn and winter.
- Spruce removal: Use long-handled loppers and Silky saws to remove small sitka spruce, giving native species room to thrive.
- Citizen science: In spring and summer, take part in flora and fauna monitoring, wildflower sowing, seed collection, and camera trapping.
- Tree tube removal: Help maintain our young trees by removing protective tubes.
All tools are provided, and you’ll be shown how to use them! Volunteering days are scheduled throughout the year, so you can choose dates that suit you. It’s a great way to meet like-minded people, enjoy the outdoors, and make a real difference for wildlife.
