We are a dedicated group of volunteers collaborating with the Charnwood Forest Geopark to enhance the region's nature and culture through various activities. Our volunteer opportunities include:
- **Caring for Geological Sites**
- **Improving Greenspaces**
- **Enhancing Access for Visitors**
**Who Can Participate**: Anyone interested in outdoor activities and environmental conservation is welcome.
**Activities**: Volunteers will use hand tools to:
- Clear vegetation
- Build and repair dry stone walls
- Manage woodlands
- Learn about local nature
**What We Provide**:
- All necessary tools and equipment
- Protective gear
- A hot drink and biscuit during breaks
**Important Considerations**:
- Many work sites are rural and lack toilet facilities.

**Items to Bring**:
- A thermal mug (spares available)
- Lunch and snacks
- Cold drinks
- Sturdy boots (wellingtons and waterproof trousers available to borrow)

**Before Your First Session**:
You are encouraged to reach out to our Community Engagement Officer, Ali, via phone or email to ask any questions. We can also meet you a few minutes before the session begins for a brief introduction and to discuss your participation.
**After Your First Session**:
If you enjoy the experience, you will be invited to register as a volunteer to share your contact details. There’s no minimum commitment—attend as many sessions as you choose. You will receive information about upcoming activities and can sign up by replying to our emails.
