Havering Health Visiting Service

The Health Visiting service in Havering provides expert public health support to children, young people, and their families, focusing on early intervention and prevention.

Our dedicated health visitors work with local communities, families, and individual children in a variety of settings, including homes, children's centres, schools, and GP surgeries. We collaborate closely with other health and non-health services to ensure every child and young person lives in a safe and nurturing environment.

We support your family from antenatal visits until your child starts school, offering advice and guidance on:

  • Breastfeeding, weaning, and healthy eating
  • Bonding and attachment with your child
  • Parenting skills
  • Childhood immunisation programme
  • Development reviews to help your child reach their full potential
  • Postnatal depression
  • Domestic and child abuse
  • Medical issues affecting your child or family
  • Support for children with additional needs, such as speech and language difficulties

We work in partnership with local children and family centres to give every child in Havering the best start in life.
