Qwell Adults 18+ who have been the victim of a crime

Adults accessing Qwell can do so without the waiting lists or thresholds often associated with traditional services. They can join online peer support communities, access self-help materials or engage in drop-in or booked one-to-one online chat sessions with our experienced counsellors.

Qwell is an anonymous site which helps adults to feel safe and confident in exploring their concerns and seeking professional support, as well as the safety of not being recognisable to anyone using the site. Qwell is an online application removing the need for Apple/Android accounts, data requirements as well as the stigma or safety of having mental health app icons on your devices.

Our platform does not require any referral and is available 24/7. Our clinical and content teamwork with the Qwell community to create relevant and accessible content for all our users. We are focussed on ensuring all aspects of the platform meets the Web Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 level AA.

Qwell is designed to work alongside traditional NHS services, such as IAPT, and is often recommended as a discharge pathway for many organisations, as well as ‘holding’ people while waiting for the service they have been referred to. It also provides an immediate alternative for those who chose not to or cannot engage in more traditional face to face services. Our clinical model is NICE informed, and we have ongoing pathways mapped across the UK.

Our live counselling functionality allows service users to receive professional support through either booked or drop-in sessions as and when a session is required. Our qualified and accredited practitioners are real people, not AI, with significant experience in working with adults from a wide variety of backgrounds including practitioners who are aware of the difficulties that those young adults who are leaving the care setting go through, and the struggles that can occur while pregnant through to early motherhood/fatherhood.

Our suite of applications allows people to choose how they want to access help: Magazines, Forums, Messaging, Live Counselling. Each component can be accessed as a stand-alone or as part of a wider care package.

Managing risk is what we do. We have a robust risk profiling system across all parts of the platform that allows us to prioritise and to reach out. Safeguarding encompasses all we do at every level of care. We know when to signpost and refer on and how to psychologically hold people and keep them safe during crisis.

All parts of our site are fully moderated by a team who have received bespoke moderation training.  For the service user, this means a safe, non-judgemental environment where no bullying, trolling, inappropriate or hateful language and exchanging of personal information can take place.  There is also no way of directly messaging anyone on the site preventing any nefarious activity from taking place.

On every part of our platform, we ask for feedback on functionality, and we measure outcomes. 92% of our service users would recommend Qwell to a friend.
