Are you looking after a friend, partner or relative? Islington Carers Hub is here to support unpaid carers aged 18 and over who live, work, or care for someone living in Islington.
Our friendly team offers emotional, financial, and practical advice and guidance tailored to your needs. We can help you register as a carer, connect you with a network of local carers, and support you in getting a well-deserved break.
- Helpline support: Speak to someone who understands the challenges and rewards of caring. Get advice, guidance, or just a listening ear.
- Carer’s Assessment: We offer a structured conversation to identify ways to make your life easier as a carer, and help you access the right support from Islington Carers Hub, Islington Council, or other services.
- Breaks from caring: We can help you apply for short breaks at hotels, find regular activities away from caring, or explore options for paid carers.
- Social and skills workshops: Join regular get-togethers and workshops to build skills like stress management and managing energy bills, and to meet other carers.
- Welcome pack and newsletter: Once registered, you’ll receive a welcome pack and regular updates to keep you informed and connected.
Eligibility: You must be 18 or over and either live, work, or care for someone living in Islington. Support is available whether you care round-the-clock or just a few hours a week.
How to get started: Contact our helpline by phone or email to register and discuss your needs. Our service is free and confidential.
Opening hours: Monday to Friday, 9am – 5pm. If you need support after hours, our partner Mobilise Carer Support Team is available up to 10pm on weekdays and 8am–10pm on weekends.
