Get a free home energy survey to improve comfort and cut your energy bills!
Energy Action Redhill & Reigate delivers the Surrey HEAT Programme, offering free home energy surveys for eligible households across East Surrey. Our Energy Champions will visit your home, take thermal images to show where heat is escaping, and ask questions about your heating and insulation. You’ll receive a tailored written report with practical advice to boost your home’s energy efficiency and comfort, helping you save money.
- Thermal imaging to identify heat loss
- Personalised advice on insulation, heating, and energy-saving measures
- Free energy efficiency materials (draughtproofing, low energy lightbulbs)
- Free or subsidised loft insulation for self-installation if needed
- Signposting to funding schemes for larger improvements (e.g. wall insulation, solar panels)
Surveys are free of charge thanks to external funding. Our main priority is to help "Hard to Heat" homes (EPC rating D or below, or no EPC), but we can also help households with an EPC of C if you have a disability, are from an ethnic minority, or are struggling to pay energy bills.
Winter surveys with thermal imaging will restart in November 2025. Register now for priority booking!
- Save money: Cut your energy bills by using energy more efficiently
- Stay warm: Keep the heat inside your home and reduce draughts
- Go green: Lower your carbon footprint and help the planet
How to take part: Click "Register Interest" on our website. We’ll contact you in October 2025 to confirm eligibility and arrange your survey at a convenient time. The visit takes 45–60 minutes, with a follow-up report and delivery of any recommended materials within three weeks.
Our service is available in all homes in Reigate and Banstead and Tandridge that have an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) of D or below, or no Certificate.
If you have an EPC rating of C, you may still be eligible if anyone in your household meets one of the "hard to reach" criteria
- Living with a disability or long term health problem
- Struggling to pay your energy bills
- From an ethnic minority
If you are not sure about the Energy Performance Certificate of your home, you can check on the free government website.
