Upper Eden Linking Lives is a warm and welcoming befriending service for adults in Upper Eden, Cumbria who need extra friendship and support. We offer weekly home visits or telephone calls from carefully selected, trained, and vetted volunteers.
Our service is designed for those who may feel lonely or isolated, especially if you find it difficult to leave your home or have limited contact with others in the community. Volunteers are matched with scheme members to provide regular companionship, usually for one hour every one or two weeks. This contact can be a lifeline, offering meaningful conversation and connection.
Referrals are accepted from statutory organisations (such as social workers, social prescribers, GPs, and community health practitioners), charities, friends, family members, or you can refer yourself. Please ensure the person being referred agrees to the service. We regret that we may be unable to arrange visits where health conditions significantly impact a person’s ability to hold a conversation.
