Great walks and good company
A packed programme of weekend walks and a busy social calendar have made Chilterns Weekend Walkers one of the region’s fastest-growing walking groups.
Founded in 2006 by people moving on from the Chiltern Young Walkers, we now have 330 members, making us the second biggest Ramblers group in Bucks. Most of us are in our forties to sixties but we welcome anyone looking for a friendly and welcoming group.
Come rain or shine, we offer walks to suit all abilities with a lively social vibe. From the Alphabet Walks to Grand Huit and Boots, Banter and Breweries, we’re known for our inventive series of walks. Afterwards, we’re often to be found at a pub or cafe – or enjoying a Chilterns church tea. Members also host socials including pub nights, comedy nights, days out and an annual quiz on a vintage train.
Our walks
As our name suggests, we walk mainly at weekends but we’ve recently added Friday walks to our programme in addition to extra walks on Bank Holidays and on summer weekday evenings. Walks are usually between 5 and 12 miles in the picturesque Chilterns stretching from the River Thames right across to Hertfordshire. You’ll enjoy great scenery, good company and healthy exercise without any worries about getting lost.
Weekends away
We like to explore further afield and organise weekend trips for group members throughout the year. Whether you enjoy the coast or the mountains, there’s something for everyone.
