QYouth at Queen's Theatre Hornchurch offers young people aged 6-18 a vibrant introduction to theatre craft in a professional theatre setting. Through weekly workshops, participants develop creativity, confidence, and teamwork, with valuable opportunities to perform on the Queen’s Theatre stage and beyond.
Our Programmes:
- Step 1 (Ages 6-8, Saturday mornings): A fun, friendly introduction to theatre through imaginative play and acting, building confidence and creativity.
- Step 2 (Ages 9-11, Saturday mornings): Drama games and exercises, improvisation, and devised performance to unlock potential and celebrate identity.
- Step 3 (Ages 11-14, Wednesday or Thursday evenings): Advanced improvisation, new plays, and performance skills for students in school Year 7 – Year 9.
- QYC Performance (Ages 14-18, Wednesday or Thursday evenings): Advanced theatre training, audition opportunities for semi-professional/professional productions, and skills for work or education settings (Year 10 – Year 13).
- QYC Technical (Ages 14-18, Tuesday evenings): Hands-on technical theatre training in sound, lighting, stage management, set, and costume design, mentored by professional technical staff (Year 10 – Year 13).
