Ashford Safe Haven

Ashford Safe Haven offers out-of-hours mental health support for anyone aged 18 and over in the Kent area. If you are feeling distressed, overwhelmed, or in crisis and need someone to talk to when other services are closed, our team is here to help.

How we support you:

  • Walk-in service – no referral needed from your GP or Care Coordinator.
  • Open every day, including weekends and bank holidays, from 6.30pm to 11.30pm.
  • Choose how you receive support: face-to-face, by phone, email, or video consultation.
  • Welcoming, safe, comfortable, and non-judgmental environment.
  • One-to-one emotional support from trained mental health professionals.
  • Help with creating staying well and crisis plans.
  • Information and signposting to other useful services and organisations.

We work closely with GPs, Community Mental Health Teams, Crisis Teams, A&E Mental Health Liaison Teams, Police, Ambulance Services, and other front-line professionals to ensure you have a safe place to turn to in times of emotional distress.

Who can use this service?

  • Anyone aged 18 or over in the Kent area.
  • No formal referral required – just walk in or contact us during opening hours.

Please note: Ashford Safe Haven is not suitable for people needing urgent medical attention (for example, after self-harm). For urgent medical care, please attend your nearest A&E or call 999. We may turn away anyone whose behaviour negatively impacts the safety and wellbeing of others using the service.

Location: The Paula Carr Centre, William Harvey Hospital, Kennington Rd, Willesborough, Ashford TN24 0LZ

Opening hours: 6.30pm–11.30pm every day (including weekends and bank holidays).
