Association for Post Natal Illness (APNI)

APNI (Association for Post-Natal Illness) is the UK’s leading charity dedicated to supporting anyone affected by post-natal illness, including post-natal depression. We offer free, confidential support to mothers, partners, family, and friends who are struggling after childbirth.

If you are experiencing post-natal depression or related symptoms, you are not alone. Our friendly volunteers—many of whom have personal experience of post-natal depression—are available to talk, listen, and offer advice. You can reach us by phone, email, or live chat on our website.

  • Helpline: Call us on 0207 386 0868 (Monday to Friday, 10am–2pm)
  • Email: [email protected]
  • Live Chat: Use the chat box on our website
  • Request a Volunteer: Speak with someone who understands what you’re going through

We also provide information for carers, partners, and health professionals, and work to raise awareness and encourage research into post-natal illness. Our website features resources, leaflets, and advice for families and professionals.

All support is free and confidential. You do not need a referral—just get in touch when you need help.

APNI is a registered UK charity (No. 280510) and has been supporting families since 1979.
