Family Support

Ray of Light Cancer Support understands that a cancer diagnosis impacts the whole family. Our Family Support Project is here to offer gentle, meaningful support to families navigating life alongside cancer, with a focus on connection, creativity, and time in nature.

What We Offer:

  • One-to-One Support: Tailored emotional and practical support for you and your loved ones. We listen with compassion, offer reassurance, and help connect you with the right services at the right time. Whether you’re at the start of a diagnosis, in treatment, or somewhere in between — you don’t have to face it alone.
  • Family & Group Sessions: Join our monthly group for the whole family! We use creative activities (art, nature crafts, play), time in nature to encourage calm and emotional expression, and a supportive community to help reduce isolation and foster connection.
    When: Monthly on Tuesdays, 4–5pm.
Where: Velindre Cancer Centre, Gardens of 19 Park Road.
  • Parent & Carer Support Group: We’re planning a dedicated support group for parents and carers — an 8–10 week course blending in-person and online sessions for flexibility. The group helps strengthen your relationship with your children, build confidence in supporting them emotionally at home, and nurture family connection during difficult times.

Together, we create space for families to pause, breathe, and begin to heal – one step at a time.
