The Single Point of Access (SPA) team is the front door for Buckinghamshire CAMHS. We are here to make it easier for children, young people (up to 18), families, and professionals to get mental health advice and support.
We accept all routes of referral and consultation requests for children and young people up to their 18th birthday. There is no set referral criteria—anyone concerned about a young person's emotional wellbeing can contact us. Young people aged 16+ can self-refer.
- We welcome calls and enquiries from: young people, parents, carers, and professionals.
- No one is turned away: If a young person asks for help, we will engage with them or help them access the support they need elsewhere.
- We support families and professionals: Our team can talk with you about involving parents or key adults when needed.
PPEP care sessions: We offer free Psychological Perspectives in Education and Primary (PPEP) training sessions for staff in primary care, education, and other professionals. These sessions help you recognise and understand mental health difficulties in children and young people, and offer appropriate support and guidance.
Our commitment: We strive to make our services accessible to everyone and will do whatever we can to meet different needs.
All children under the age of 18 who are registered with a Buckinghamshire GP or a looked after child placed in Bucks where there is a concern for their mental health.
