Buckinghamshire Integrated Sensory Service (BISS) provides free support to adults, children, and young people in Buckinghamshire who are living with sight loss, hearing loss, or dual sensory loss.
All services are free and funded by Buckinghamshire Council, so you must be paying council tax to Buckinghamshire Council to access support from BISS.
BucksVision delivers BISS in partnership with Young Deaf Activities. Our dedicated team includes staff who support clients directly in the community and others who provide essential administration for the service.
What we offer:
- Support for people with sight loss, hearing loss, and dual sensory loss
- Services for both adults and children/young people
- Community-based support and advice
- Safe and professional service, operating under robust policies
If you live in Milton Keynes and pay council tax to Milton Keynes Council, your sensory service team is called Milton Keynes Sensory Services (MKSS).

For sight loss referrals, the client must have a sight loss condition in both eyes that is not correctable by wearing glasses. If the client is able to drive still, they would generally not be deemed appropriate for access to our service.
For hearing loss referrals, the client needs to have been formally diagnosed with a hearing loss by a qualified audiologist, or be profoundly Deaf with no usable hearing.
We also support clients with both sight and hearing loss (dual loss).
We support any age of client.
The client must live in and pay their council tax to Bucks to access the service.
