Buses 4 U - Dial-a-Ride is a flexible, bookable community transport service for residents of Tandridge District who have mobility difficulties or lack access to public or private transport.

How does it work? The route and timings are determined by passenger requests, making it a truly responsive service. The bus will take you anywhere within the Tandridge area and home again. For medical reasons, the service also covers Redhill, Merstham, East Surrey Hospital, Horley, and East Grinstead.

  • Fully accessible vehicles: All buses are equipped with passenger lifts for easy access.
  • Trained drivers: Drivers are specifically trained to assist passengers with limited mobility and are dementia trained. All hold enhanced DBS certificates.

Who can use the service? Any Tandridge resident who has mobility difficulties or no access to suitable public or private transport can become a member and use the service.

Operating hours:

  • Mondays to Fridays: 09:00 to 15:00 (Schooldays)
  • Mondays to Fridays: 09:00 to 17:00 (Non-schooldays)
  • Saturdays, Sundays & Public Holidays: No Service

Fares:

  • Adult single fares:
    • 0 to 5 miles: £3.50
    • 5 to 10 miles: £4.50
    • 10 to 15 miles: £6.00
    • 15 to 20 miles: £10.00
  • Concessionary passes are not accepted.

Membership: Annual membership costs £25. To join, complete the online registration form or contact the office.

How to book: All journeys must be booked at least one day in advance (up to 14 days for medical appointments, 7 days for other trips). Call the Travel Centre to arrange your journey and discuss any accessibility needs.
