Lightbulb Café

The Lightbulb Café is a dementia-friendly initiative hosted by Wycombe Wanderers Foundation, dedicated to supporting individuals in the early to mid-stages of dementia and their carers. Our monthly sessions provide a warm, welcoming, and safe space where participants can build support networks, engage in reminiscence activities, and take part in light physical exercises that promote holistic well-being.

What We Offer:

  • Memory Stimulation: Interactive sessions using Wycombe Wanderers’ memorabilia and memory boxes from Wycombe Museum to inspire conversations and evoke memories.
  • Physical Activities: Gentle chair-based exercises and movement routines tailored to individual abilities, supporting mobility and physical health.
  • Arts and Crafts: Creative, hands-on activities designed to promote engagement and self-expression.
  • Games and Singing: Fun group activities to boost mood, create connection, and enhance social interaction.
  • Discussions: Opportunities to connect with external support organizations for further guidance and resources.

While individuals with dementia participate in structured sessions, carers can connect with others in similar situations, consult healthcare professionals, and take part in mindfulness exercises—offering a well-deserved break, reducing isolation, and providing valuable support.

Session Details:

  • When: Monthly, on the first Wednesday of every month
  • Time: 10:30 AM – 12:00 PM
  • Where: Monty’s Lounge, Wycombe Wanderers Foundation

Whether you’re living with dementia or supporting someone who is, the Lightbulb Café is here to provide a space for connection, activity, and support. Our sessions are designed to create a positive and uplifting environment for everyone involved.
