Invigorate is a programme of physical activities designed to help adults improve their wellbeing in Cambridge.
Sessions are either free or low-cost, and are open to anyone aged 18 and over. The programme is especially welcoming to people experiencing anxiety, depression, or other mental health challenges. You can join by self-referral or be referred by a health professional.
Activities include:
- Football
- Walks
- Racket sports (badminton, etc.)
- Pilates
- Swimming
- Yoga
A friendly facilitator is present at every session to support and encourage you. In addition to in-person activities, free online programmes are available, covering mindfulness, relaxation, yoga, movement, and more.
Discounts for Invigorate members:
- If you are referred by a health professional, you can apply for a free Better concessionary membership card, which gives you a 50% discount on pay-as-you-go sessions at GLL-managed gyms and swimming pools in Cambridge.
- Swimming sessions cost £3 (normally £6).
- Gym sessions cost £5 (normally £10).
This offer is only for people who are not already Better members. The card can be used for swimming or gym sessions, but not for monthly memberships or fitness classes. You must apply in person at Abbey Leisure Centre or Parkside Pools, bringing your Invigorate referral. Details on how to claim will be provided in your Welcome Pack.

To be eligible, patients must be aged 18 and over and resident of Cambridge City or registered with a GP in Cambridge City. The programme is especially for people experiencing anxiety, depression, or other mental ill health.
