Redditch and Bromsgrove Talking Newspaper (Charity No. 1014645) is a local registered charity publishing a weekly Talking Newspaper to those who are sight impaired and experience difficulty in reading and handling a newspaper for themselves, enabling them to listen to local news.  The Talking Newspaper is created and delivered entirely FREE of charge by a team of local volunteers and published editions contain:

  • Local news
  • Events
  • Helpful advice
  • A quiz
  • Other items of interest

The service can be accessed on Alexa devices, on a mobile phone, or via a tablet or computer.  It can also be accessed via the Redditch and Bromsgrove Talking Newspaper Facebook page link.

For those that do not have access to Alexa or the web, the Talking Newspaper is able to supply a USB memory stick pre-loaded with the week's news.  In addition they can also loan a simple to use USB memory stick player to listeners.  USB sticks are delivered free of charge to people accessing the service via USB.

The service is available to residents in the community with a need, and connections with Care Home providers are fully supported to ensure their residents have equal access to the service.

Once you have contacted the Redditch and Bromsgrove Talking Newspaper, they will be able to assist you to find the right way to listen and access the service for you.

The Redditch and Bromsgrove Talking Newspaper is produced entirely by a team of volunteers and funded through the charitable status of the organisation receiving grants and donations to continue the work.
