PEDS (Personalised Eating Disorder Support) offers a dedicated referral pathway for individuals in Peterborough and Cambridgeshire who are experiencing eating disorder symptoms or are at risk. We work collaboratively with the local NHS eating disorder team to ensure you receive the most appropriate care. If your symptoms meet the criteria for secondary care, we will refer you to the CPFT Adult Eating Disorder Service with your consent and notify your GP.
Who can refer? Referrals are accepted for all ages, including children and young people, and can be made by individuals themselves or on behalf of someone else. We recommend that anyone referring themselves also makes an appointment with their GP for a health check.
- Waiting times: Routine assessments: 4–6 weeks. Priority assessments: 2–3 weeks.
- Referral area: Peterborough and Cambridgeshire only.
- Referral processing: Monday–Friday, 9:00–16:00. Triaged within 7 days.
Important: PEDS does not provide crisis or urgent care. If you are experiencing suicidal thoughts/plans or have been actively suicidal in the past 12 weeks, please contact your GP, the First Response Team (call 111, option 2 if in Cambridgeshire), or visit A&E. You can also text HEAR to 85258 for support.
Accessing the service: Complete the online referral form. You will be asked for details about your eating disorder symptoms, medical history, and contact information. Consent is required for us to liaise with other healthcare providers involved in your care.
- Eligibility: Must live in Peterborough or Cambridgeshire.
- All ages welcome.
- Not suitable for those in mental health crisis or with recent suicidal ideation.
