Basis Yorkshire – young people

Basis Yorkshire works with women (including those who identify as women) and non-binary people who work in the sex industry, as well as women and young people who are sexually exploited.

Our mission is to empower people to make safer and healthier choices by providing information, support, and options. We challenge stigma and inequality of access to services, ensuring that the voices and experiences of those we support are at the heart of our work.

We are proud to be one of a small number of specialist organisations that explicitly recognise and advocate for women’s right to work more safely when selling sex, while also supporting women and young people to be safer and free from harm.

  • Specialist support for sex workers
  • Advocacy and empowerment
  • Support for those experiencing sexual exploitation
  • Training and courses for professionals
  • Volunteer opportunities

Our services are evidence-based and designed in partnership with the people we support. We offer a safe, non-judgmental space and work to end stigma, create safety, and promote empowerment.
