Dementia Support – Age UK Wyvern

Age UK Wyvern’s Dementia Support service offers a compassionate, person-centred approach for people living with dementia or memory loss and their carers across Worcestershire.

We understand the challenges of dementia, including loneliness and isolation. Our dedicated team provides emotional and practical support from diagnosis onwards, helping individuals maintain independence, dignity, and joy throughout their journey.

  • Dementia Wellbeing Service: Personalised support, advice, and companionship for people with dementia and their carers. Our advisors are available by phone or can visit clients at home.

  • Maintenance Cognitive Stimulation Therapy (MCST): Weekly 2-hour group sessions for 6 months, designed to maintain memory and cognitive function through quizzes, creative activities, and discussions. Complimentary coffee and biscuits provided.
  • Young Onset Dementia Support: Up to 5 hours per month of one-to-one mentoring for individuals with young onset dementia, plus a monthly pop-up café for social outings and peer support.
  • Dementia Engagement and Empowerment Project (DEEP): Monthly group at Hickories Smokehouse, Worcester, offering a platform for people with dementia to connect, share experiences, and have their voices heard.
  • Monthly Group Outings: Dementia-friendly trips to local destinations, gardens, and attractions, providing opportunities for socialising and enjoyment.

All services are designed to foster wellbeing, connection, and meaningful relationships. Our team is here to help for as long as you need us, whether a few months or several years.
