The Moorings Devon offers free, welcoming, and non-judgmental mental health support for anyone aged 18 and over in the Devon area. You can access help from three comfortable locations in Barnstaple, Exeter, and Torquay, or connect by phone or video call.
What we offer:
- Emotional, social, and practical support if you are in crisis or feel you are heading toward a crisis.
- Support in person, over the phone, or via video call—come for a chat or access one-to-one help from trained professionals.
- Help with creating staying well and crisis plans.
- Guidance to access other useful organisations.
- 24/7 helpline for emotional support and information, even when The Moorings is closed.
Locations & Opening Times:
- Barnstaple: The Voice Meeting Rooms, Belle Meadow Court, Albert Lane, Barnstaple, EX32 8RJ. Open Thursday to Monday, 6pm-11pm.
- Exeter: Wonford House, Dryden Road, Exeter, EX2 5AF. Open Monday-Friday (including bank holidays), 10am-10:30pm; Saturday-Sunday, 1:30pm-9:30pm.
- Torquay: South Devon & Torbay Mental Health Centre, Torbay Hospital, Lowes Bridge, TQ2 7AA. Open Monday-Friday (including bank holidays), 6pm-10:30pm; Saturday-Sunday, 1:30pm-10:30pm.
How to access:
- No referral or appointment needed—just drop in during opening hours or call us.
- Calls and emails are answered during opening hours; messages will be responded to as soon as possible.

Who is this service for? Anyone aged 18+ in Devon who needs mental health support. Please note: The Moorings is not suitable for urgent medical attention—if you need urgent care, please attend your nearest A&E or call 999.
