WorkWell - Herefordshire

WorkWell is a joint initiative from the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) and the Department for Health and Social Care (DHSC), designed to help people with health conditions and/or disabilities stay in or return to work.

What does WorkWell offer?

  • Tailored support for individuals facing barriers to employment due to health conditions or disabilities.
  • Early-intervention work and health assessment and provision of light touch, low-intensity support.
  • Access to general help, support, information, guidance, and connections to local services via telephone.
  • Optional face-to-face work and health coaching for those who need it.
  • Signposting to additional or alternative support services as needed, acting as a single point of access for health-related support needs.

Who is WorkWell for?

  • Anyone aged 16 or over.
  • People living in or registered to a GP in Herefordshire or Worcestershire.
  • Individuals with the right to work in the UK.
  • Those experiencing barriers to employment due to health conditions or disabilities.

WorkWell supports:

  • People in work who need support to stay in work.
  • Those recently out of work due to sickness (up to 6 months) who require early intervention.
  • Individuals out of work for longer who need more complex support, with links to services offering longer-term help.

Employers: WorkWell provides expert guidance to help you support employees with health conditions, reduce absenteeism, and improve workplace wellbeing. You can refer employees with their consent and access practical resources for supportive conversations.

How much does it cost?
WorkWell is a free service for eligible individuals in Herefordshire and Worcestershire.

How to access WorkWell?

  • Self-referral or referral by someone else via your GP surgery.
  • Online referral forms for your local Primary Care Network (PCN).
  • If your PCN isn’t live yet, you can join the waiting list via the contact form.
