This free 13-week programme is designed for girls and gender-diverse young people aged 11-13, particularly those who may be vulnerable or facing additional challenges.
Through fun, interactive workshops, we support young people with:
- Confidence and self-esteem
- Body image and puberty changes
- Healthy friendships, boundaries, and consent
- Media awareness and safety
- Self-defence and community-building

Our sessions are inclusive, creative, and delivered by trained Big Sis mentors alongside trusted partners. The programme is funded through the Devon Community Foundation’s Violence Against Women and Girls Fund and is free of charge for families.
We have 10 FREE spaces available in this programme.
Young people need to fullfil the following criteria:
- Needs to be available for most of 13 sessions
- Aged 11-13 during the programme duration (Minimum age 10 by programme start in November 2024)
- Girls, those assigned female at birth, or those who identify as non-binary
- Need to be able to travel to the programme venue in Devonport (travel costs are not funded). Possible catchment areas: Devonport, Stonehouse, Morice Town, St Budeaux, Stoke, etc...
We accept applications from professionals, carers or parents for a young person who is:
- Neurodivergent (no formal diagnosis required)
- Live with a disability
- home schooled
- Experiencing racism or bullying
- Facing mental health challenges, such as anxiety
- Are currently excluded from school or at risk of exclusion
- LGBTQIA+ folks
- Children on benefit-related Free School Meals (FSM) who attend a Devon or Cornwall school
- Asylum seekers and refugees
- Looked after children
- Young Carers
- Children on Educational Health Care Plans (EHCP)
- Children on child protection plans
- Children with social anxiety
