Paul's Cancer Support Centre offers a range of counselling and complementary therapies designed to support people living with cancer, as well as their partners and carers. Our services are delivered in a warm, safe, and understanding environment, helping you navigate the emotional and physical challenges that can arise during and after cancer treatment.
Our therapies include:
- Couples and Psychosexual Counselling: Explore feelings and concerns, strengthen communication, and reconnect with your partner in a safe, neutral space. Sessions help address issues such as loss of intimacy, changes in body image, and sexual difficulties. Exercises may be provided to support progress at home.
- Individual Counselling: Work through shock, fear, confusion, and isolation following a diagnosis, treatment, or loss. Our counsellors offer understanding, concern, and impartiality, helping you find meaning, reduce stress, and improve relationships.
- Massage: Experience aromatherapy, Swedish, or shiatsu massage to help you accept and regain confidence in your body, reduce tension, and promote relaxation and well-being.
- Hypnotherapy: Learn self-hypnosis, guided visualisation, and techniques to build inner resources, stimulate your immune system, and improve your quality of life.
- Craniosacral Therapy: Gentle, light-touch therapy to release tension, increase clarity, and promote a sense of well-being.
- Reflexology: Targeted massage of the feet or hands to improve circulation, stimulate the immune system, and restore energy flow. Home appointments may require a referral from your GP or hospital consultant.
- ScarWork: Light hand movements to improve feeling and movement in scar tissue, reduce discomfort, and promote tissue health.
- Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD): For people diagnosed with lymphoedema, this gentle treatment helps reduce swelling and fluid retention. Each 1-hour session costs £45; most clients book monthly treatments.
Appointments: Most sessions last 50 minutes to 1 hour. For couples counselling, attending together is recommended. For home-based therapies, a referral may be required.
How to access: Please contact our Support Team to book your first appointment or to request more information. We are here to listen and help you find the right support for your needs.
