Independent Living Suffolk (ILS) is a free service provided by Suffolk County Council in partnership with local district and borough councils. Our goal is to help you live safely, comfortably, and independently in your own home for as long as possible.
Who can access ILS?
- Anyone living in Suffolk
- Homeowners or those with landlord's permission
What we offer:
- Advice and information about your housing options
- Occupational therapy service – holistic assessments in your home to identify difficulties and discuss solutions
- Home adaptations – including grab rails, major adaptations (such as converting a bath to a wet room), and improvements to help you stay independent
- Support with funding – guidance on grants, savings, and equity release options
- Advice about paying for work
