About the Sessions
Our sensory-rich, Montessori-inspired sessions are designed to support children in developing age-appropriate milestones through open-ended exploration and hands-on play. Activities are grounded in evidence-based approaches that help children to:
- Regulate emotions
- Improve focus and attention
- Build confidence
- Strengthen early learning and communication skills
- Practice fine and gross motor skills
These sessions are teacher-led and aligned with the EYFS framework, offering a calm, inclusive, and nurturing environment for both children and their parents/carers. The programme has been created by experienced professionals from the SEND and education sectors.
The session will be of a stay-and-play structure, where adults will supervise their child at all times and guide them around the activities focusing on connection with their child and learning new activities to try at home.
Who is this for?
A FREE 6-week referral can be made if a child meets any of the following criteria with a mild to moderate severity:
- Developmental delays (physical, fine and gross motor, social, cognitive and speech and language)
- Low self-esteem or confidence
- Sensory sensitivities
- Attention-related challenges
The child may find it difficult to access other play groups and may feel overwhelmed or uncomfortable, be behind in a or several development milestones suggested by nursery reports or parent/carer awareness.
In line with our inclusivity approach, children do not need to have an EHCP to participate. They may already have an EHCP, be on the waiting list, or not have one at all. This course has been created for children with mild to moderate severity, please keep this in mind when securing a place.
This programme aims to support vulnerable groups facing barriers to success and empower disadvantaged families, children with SEND or facing challenges with development milestones, and children in care through sensory activities, enrichment, and play-based learning.
