Cassius is Suffolk County Council’s care technology service, designed to help adults live safely and independently at home for longer.
We offer the latest digital and assistive technology, blending seamlessly with mainstream devices and complementing face-to-face care. Our service supports people over 18 with a wide range of health and care needs, including those new to technology and carers seeking peace of mind.
- Assessment, installation, and maintenance: We help you choose the right technology, set it up, and provide ongoing support. When you no longer need the equipment, we’ll collect it for you.
- Wide range of devices: Products can be worn or fitted around your home, helping to keep you safe by alerting others if you need help (for example, after a fall). Specialist items are available following a care needs assessment.
- Support for carers: Our technology can help carers feel more confident and less worried, knowing their loved ones have backup support and real-time information.
Cost: Equipment is free of charge if you meet needs outlined in the Care Act. If you have savings above £23,250, we can advise you on where to purchase technology. Arranging it yourself may be quicker and give you more choice and control.
- Find care technology through our online shop, large retailers, specialist health shops, or app stores.
If you have more complex needs, you may be eligible for a full care and support assessment. Visit our care and support assessment page for more information.
Let us help you stay independent, safe, and connected at home.
