Financial Inclusion Service

Are you struggling with the rising cost of living? West Suffolk Council offers a range of support and advice for residents facing financial pressures. Whether you need help with benefits, grants, debt, or general money advice, our Financial Inclusion Team is here to help.

How we can help:

  • Check your eligibility for benefits and help you apply
  • Advise on grants, discounts, and deals to reduce your spending
  • Support you in dealing with debt and accessing money advice
  • Connect you with other local support services if needed

We also provide information about Pension Credit for those over State Pension age, which can unlock extra benefits such as help with dental costs, glasses, transport, rent, mortgage interest, Council Tax, and a free TV Licence for those aged 75 and over.

Winter Fuel Payment: These payments are made automatically to eligible people. Beware of scams—never share your bank details in response to unsolicited messages.

Surviving Winter Grant: If you need help heating your home, you may be eligible for a grant through the Suffolk Community Foundation. Applications are managed locally by Gatehouse Caring in West Suffolk.

For more information, visit our website or contact us directly. We are here to support you and connect you with the help you need.
