End of Life Bereavement

Living with Bereavement at St Nicholas Hospice Care offers a range of compassionate support services for anyone experiencing grief. We understand that every journey through loss is unique, and our Family Support Team is here to help you navigate the emotions and challenges that come with bereavement.

Our services include:

  • GriefChat: Access a specially trained bereavement counsellor online in a safe space to share your story and feelings. Free service, available Monday to Friday, 9am–9pm.
  • One-to-one bereavement counselling: Receive support from a trained volunteer or professional counsellor, tailored to your needs.
  • Bereavement support groups: Meet regularly with others who have had similar experiences, offering companionship and understanding.
  • Nicky's Way: Award-winning bereavement support for children, providing information, a safe place to express feelings, and help to make sense of difficult questions.
  • Ways to remember: Opportunities to pay tribute to loved ones through walks, online memorials, Light up a Life services, and engravings on our Tree of Reflection.

We are here to support you, whether you need to talk now or want ongoing help. Download our list of useful phone numbers for immediate bereavement and mental health support, or contact our advice line for guidance.

All services are free of charge.

Location: Support is available at our Bury St Edmunds site, through online services, and in groups. Please contact us to discuss the best option for you.
