Tinside Coastal Clean - Walk, talk and tidy up!

This monthly gathering is open to anyone who wants to help care for the beautiful Tinside area with a clean-up led by Plymouth Sound National Marine Park Rangers and volunteers.

Whether you're a seasoned volunteer or just dipping your toes into community action, there's a spot for you. Volunteering not only helps keep the area clean and welcoming, but it also boosts your wellbeing—think blue mind, that calming, connected feeling we get from being near the sea. Come and help make shore a healthy place to live for all creatures whether human or marine and learn about some of the biggest threats facing the marine environment from pollution and plastic. We will provide tea, coffee and biscuits after!

So come along, connect with your blue space, meet others, and be part of something positive for Plymouth.

First Wednesday of every month; 2pm - 4pm (Dec 3rd; Jan 7th: Feb 4th: March 4th, April 1st)

Accessibility:

Tinside Lido is accessible to those with low mobility as it has a public lift inside that goes to the Lido level. It is possible for some of the areas to be accessed by wheelchair however there are lots of steps in some sections which can limit where you can go. There are also slopes which could be tricky getting back up for manual chairs. However we are always ready to adapt and overcome where we can.

Toilets, including accessible toilets are available in the Lido.

We welcome everyone to join our accessible litter pick, including those who may have faced significant barriers to taking part in activities like this before. Our aim is to create a safe, inclusive, and encouraging environment where everyone feels able to take part.

We are very happy to make adaptations wherever possible, and reasonable adjustments can be made upon request (nmprangers@plymouth.gov.uk) . If you have any additional requirements, please don’t hesitate to reach out in advance, we will do our very best to accommodate you and ensure you feel supported throughout the session.

To ensure the wellbeing of the whole group, the event leader may need to decline participation if someone’s behaviour or needs present a safety risk or prevent the leader from running the session effectively. This decision would only ever be made when absolutely necessary, and always with care, respect, and consideration for everyone involved.

Please note: this event is subject to a 24 hour cancellation period in bad weather conditions.
