Newham Xplore is a free, healthy-lifestyle programme for children and young people aged 4–17 years. Run by Live Well Newham and delivered across Better leisure centres in Newham, the programme aims to help families adopt healthier lifestyles through a blend of nutrition workshops and age-appropriate physical activity sessions. Sessions are designed to be friendly, engaging and supportive, with activities that encourage regular physical activity and better eating habits. The programme is coordinated to fit around families, with 8-week blocks that typically run in the evenings or on Saturdays, and includes a range of age-appropriate activities as well as facilitated discussions for parents/carers. Each child on the 4–14 age track receives a certificate of achievement, a drawstring bag, and a pre-loaded £20 membership card to spend at Better leisure centres in the Borough; older youths on the 15–17 track receive similar ongoing benefits. Referrals are welcome from health professionals, schools, social prescribers and self-referral. The programme is completely free of charge for participants.
