Macmillan Cancer Support Centre - Newham University Hospital

The Macmillan Information and Support Service at Newham University Hospital, offers a free and confidential service for individuals affected by cancer, including allied health professionals, patients at Barts Health NHS Trust, family members, friends, and carers living or working in Newham and neighbouring North East London boroughs. 

The service is located on the ground floor (Zone 1) at Newham Hospital. 

**Services Offered:**

- Comprehensive information and support on living with cancer, including treatment options and potential side effects.

- Emotional support available as needed, drop-in service available however advised to arrange appointment.

- Guidance on financial concerns, such as welfare benefits and grant applications.

- Assistance in connecting with local services, including support groups, counselling, and wellbeing programs.

- Support and advice regarding palliative care for cancer patients.

Please note we are unable to support housing related concerns including affordability, poor conditions, homelessness/eviction and tenancy issues. Enquires should be directed to Newham Council housing department, Council housing hubs, housing officers and landlords/letting agency.  

**Eligibility:** This service is open to anyone impacted by cancer living/working in North East London, particularly in the borough of Newham.

**Operating Hours:** Monday to Friday: 10 AM - 4 PM

Call free on 0808 808 00 00  to speak to an information and support adviser or cancer information nurse specialist. Available 7 days a week, 8am to 8pm.

Anyone affected by cancer, including allied health professionals, patients at Barts Health NHS Trust, family members, friends, and carers living or working in Newham or neighbouring North East London boroughs. 

Needs to have or awaiting a cancer diagnosis, or are supporting someone with a cancer diagnosis.
