The Hope Foundation's Digital service helps people over 50 in Middlesbrough build confidence and skills with technology, so they can thrive in the digital world.
We focus on supporting those who are lonely or isolated, helping them stay connected to friends, family, and the wider community. Our team assists with:
- Learning to use digital devices and online services
- Accessing essential services that are moving online, such as GP appointments and government support
- Getting devices and internet connectivity
- Learning new digital skills
- Staying safe online
We offer a digital library, cybercafe, and a YouTube channel with helpful resources. Through our partnership with furbdit, we refurbish donated devices and distribute them to people in the community who need them.
Our service has made a real difference in people's lives, helping them maintain independence, keep in touch with loved ones, and build confidence to re-enter work or education.
Who is it for? This service is designed for people aged 50 and over in Middlesbrough, especially those who feel isolated or lack digital skills.
How to access: Visit us at Hope House, call, or email to make an appointment. Opening times: Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 4pm. Please call ahead due to Covid-19 measures.
