Carelink is a free and flexible service for people aged 65 and over in Stoke-on-Trent and North Staffordshire. We offer creative solutions to the growing challenge of loneliness, vulnerability, and isolation among older people.
Our dedicated team of staff and fully trained volunteers provide a range of services designed to empower older adults to live independently, confidently, and with a sense of belonging.
- Befriending Calls: Regular, friendly phone calls from our volunteers help those who may have difficulty leaving their homes due to mobility issues or lack of confidence. These calls offer companionship, emotional support, and a listening ear, helping individuals feel valued and less alone.
- Chatty Café: Welcoming in-person sessions where guests can enjoy tea or coffee, play games, learn new skills, and connect with others in a friendly, supportive environment. These cafés provide a retreat from loneliness and something to look forward to each week.
- Carelink Connect Club: Personalised digital support to help clients use laptops, smartphones, and other devices. We help older people stay connected with family, friends, and service providers, building confidence in the digital world.
- KOKU Club (Keep On Keeping Up): Fun, engaging exercise classes focused on building strength, improving mobility, and reducing the risk of falls. Sessions are lively, uplifting, and designed to help people stay independent in their own homes for longer. A user-friendly app is available for convenient participation.
- Outings and Social Events: Escorted day trips to local attractions and group activities to foster friendships and create positive experiences.
All services are delivered by compassionate staff and volunteers who understand the challenges of aging and are committed to making a real difference. Carelink is completely free to access.
