Horticultural Therapy at Ridgeline Trust

We currently offer horticultural therapy sessions for adults on Mondays and Tuesday. Each session costs £22 for a half day, or £44 for a full day. The sessions are guided by horticultural therapists and supported by volunteers.

Please contact us for information on current vacancies.

Activities vary according to individual needs, abilities and goals and also depend on the weather and the time of year. This can include seed sowing, potting-on plants, dead-heading, weeding, watering, and digging. There’s a polytunnel for when it’s colder or wetter.

We have a spacious pavilion, where we offer activities such as craft and cooking vegetables grown in the garden, when the weather isn’t suitable for gardening. We provide all equipment and tools. It doesn’t matter whether clients have any experience of gardening or not, and there are plenty of opportunities to learn new skills and remember long-forgotten skills.

We provide tea and coffee, and clients may bring a packed lunch to eat together with other clients and volunteers. There is plenty of space to sit either outdoors or in the pavilion, depending on the weather. There is a wheelchair-accessible path around the garden with level access into the pavilion, which has accessible toilets.
