About Harrow Health Walks
Harrow Health Walks is a free programme of walks. It is for anyone who wants to improve their wellbeing and health, meet new people and explore Harrow’s hidden gems. The scheme is part of the Ramblers Wellbeing Walks, England’s largest network of wellbeing walk schemes. They help thousands of people across the country lead a more active lifestyle. The walks are led by qualified leaders. You can walk at your own pace. Everyone is welcome regardless of age and fitness level.
Walks range from 30 to 90 minutes of varying levels so there's a walk for everyone. We have at least one walk running every day of the week.
Once you sign up, you do not need to book in advance. Turn up on the day. There’s a walk happening every day of the week and all over the borough.
New walkers can sign up on www.harrow.gov.uk/walk for more information.
How difficult are the walks?
Our walks vary in length and difficulty to give everyone a chance to reap the benefits from walking:
- Easy: No gradients, even ground, shorter walks. Ideal for everyone including those with pushchairs and wheelchairs
- Moderate: Some slight gradients but mostly even ground. Around 1 hour walks.
- Moderate to difficult: These walks will include some inclined ground
- Difficult: Will have inclines and the route may go through rough ground. The walks are usually longer.
Harrow residents who are 18 years or older. We reccomend that new walkers consult with their GP before attending a walk if they have any concerns about their ability to exercise. Anyone can attend the walks, but children must be supervised.
