Mental Health and Wellbeing

The Berkshire West Breathing Space service provides a welcoming and safe space for anybody 18 and over experiencing mental distress or a mental health crisis.

We provide support and a safe space for people to go outside of regular working hours, as an alternative to using A&E or other urgent care services.

We also offer virtual options for you to access support using video calls, if you cannot travel to us. Or we can arrange a telephone call if you don’t have digital access

Berkshire West residents over 18 years of age who are experiencing a mental health crisis who wish to access support, and could
benefit from a supportive, non-clinical environment outside of hours.

If somebody under 18 contacts the Breathing Space, they will be appropriately referred or signposted to appropriate services.

People who historically may have attended the Emergency Department, in the absence of other options for accessing assessment, support and safety People at risk of self-harm or suicide, but are no immediate risk to themselves or others Anyone living in Berkshire West. This includes West Berkshire, Reading and Wokingham.
