The Renewal Programme have launched their Stay Warm in Newham project and have opened their first warm bank on Tuesday 24th January 2023.
Newham residents are encouraged to attend our warm bank sessions to access energy- related advice/services and activities, to help reduce energy cost. We also provide a welcoming space for residents to enjoy tea and coffee with some company.
Our warm bank runs three days a week on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 11:00am- 1:00pm at The Renewal Programme, 395 High Street North E12 6PG.
You will have the opportunity to engage with our energy experts, Groundwork’s Green Doctor, who will be there every Tuesday to offer advice to residents on how to reduce cost while keeping their home warm. They also provide in-depth referrals via telephone calls or home visits (subject to eligibility).
We also have trained Community Energy Champions who will be able to offer tips and savings around gas and electric. We have a telephone and an email support system where you can send your enquiry and concerns around fuel poverty.
To support our community further we are providing hot meals every Wednesday from 12pm- 1:00pm and will be starting our new energy saving cooking classes for 2024.
If you would like to register for the project or make a self-referral to the Green Doctor service, please complete the forms on our website.
