Active Devonport is a free fitness, physical activity, and behaviour change programme designed to improve health, wellbeing, and social connection for local residents who are inactive or living with a long-term health condition. The programme will include:
To be able to sign up a referral must be received from a GP, social prescriber, Livewell staff member / service, or other medical professional.
The programme includes the following free of charge:
- Access to the gym and classes at Foulston Park for 3 months
- Exercise class only for people who sign up to the programme at the following days / times.
Tuesdays 7pm – 8pm
Wednesdays 5pm – 6pm
- Group gym personal training sessions at the following days / times. 1-hour bookings will be able to be made during these time slots.
Tuesdays 5pm – 7pm
Wednesdays 6pm – 8pm
- Football sessions at Devonport High School for Boys
Male session Wednesdays 6pm – 7pm
Female session Wednesdays 7pm – 8pm
- Walking Groups at Central Park
Aged 60+ Tuesdays 10.30am – 12.30pm
Any age Thursdays 12pm – 2pm

1. Complete referral form through the Joy app
2. Once received a member of staff at Foulston Park will be in contact to arrange an initial appointment. During this appointment we will get you signed up to membership, explain the programme in more detail, and complete any further paperwork.
3. At the end of your appointment, you will have free access to the above programme for a 3-month period.
