Torbay Carers Service provides a wide range of advice and support for people who care for a family member or friend, as well as for the people they care for and the wider public in Torbay.
If you are an unpaid carer, whether you help with shopping, meals, attending appointments, or simply making sure someone is alright, you may be eligible for support. Many carers do not see themselves as carers or know about the help available to them. Torbay Carers Service is here to help you and those you care for.
- Universal services: Carers in Torbay can access many services without needing an assessment. You can speak to a Carer Support Worker at your GP surgery, at Carers Aid Torbay, or by calling Signposts for Carers.
- Carers assessment: All carers are entitled to a carers assessment to find out what support is best for them.
- Events and information: The service hosts events such as the Carers’ Celebration and Information Day, and provides information leaflets and support videos.
To get started, identify yourself as a carer to any health or care professional you work with, and find out about the help available to you. If you care for someone living in Torbay, you can join Torbay Carers or contact Signposts for Carers for more information.
