East London NHS Foundation Trust - OCEAN Mental Health Service East London

OCEAN (Offering Compassionate Emotional Support for those Living Through Birth Trauma & Birth Loss) is an integrated maternity and mental health service. It provides support for those experiencing or who have experienced birth loss or birth trauma. The service offers specialist psychological treatment, care and support, targeted assessment/intervention for individuals with moderate/complex mental health needs arising from maternity experiences, and therapeutic care that integrates psychological support with specialist midwifery and reproductive health support. It is available to people who live or work in the London boroughs of City & Hackney, Newham and Tower Hamlets, and referrals can be made by healthcare professionals or self-referral (via telephone or email). The East London OCEAN service also provides leaflets in multiple languages and, in East London, runs a weekly in-person therapeutic group starting in October. The service emphasises planned, non-crisis care and collaboration with NHS partners to support birth trauma and birth loss. Opening hours are Monday–Friday, 9am–5pm. If English isn’t your first language, there are steps to help you participate fully.
