We know that the pandemic has been really tough for visually impaired people. Going out has meant navigating one-way systems, limits on numbers, barriers and queues all while trying to socially distance from people you cannot see. Routes you knew by heart are no longer the same and increased numbers of tables, chairs and signage outside make it difficult to walk down streets that used to be accessible.
As restrictions ease you may want to get back out and about but are feeling nervous and lack confidence. This is where our Realeyes project can help.
Realeyes befrienders can visit you in your home or take you out to a coffee shop, for a walk or other activity, offering you support and encouragement to get back to doing the things you used to love pre-lockdown.
