Sycamore Trust U.K. - Life & Social Skills Programme (Youth Groups)

Sycamore Trust U.K. offers a Life & Social Skills Programme for autistic young people and/or people with Learning Disabilities, delivered as part of our Youth Groups. The 12‑month programme runs during term time on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday evenings. The 2026/27 cycle began in April 2026 and is funded by City Bridge Foundation; the current cycle is full and there are no waiting lists for new entrants, with funding in place through March 2027. The programme is open to young people aged 10–17 years with a diagnosis of mild to moderate autism who live in the London boroughs of Barking & Dagenham, Havering, or Redbridge; young people in these boroughs who have been referred to CAMHS for an autism assessment may also be eligible. The programme covers 30 life‑skills topics across six modules: Relationships, Social Skills, Health and Hygiene, Independent Travel, Independent Living, and Wellbeing and Mental Health. Each session typically includes around 30 minutes of a life‑skills topic followed by a related activity to promote social interaction and teamwork. The groups are: Tuesday Club (6.30–8.30pm) in Becontree; Wednesday Club (6.30–8.30pm) in Rainham; Thursday Club (6.30–8.30pm) in Becontree. For those interested in the Rainham Wednesday group, referrals or expressions of interest can be directed to matt.dyde@sycamoretrust.org.uk. Cost information is not stated on the website. This programme sits alongside other services for autistic young people and is part of the organisation’s wider Youth Services.
