Creative Arts Therapy

Creative Arts Therapy sessions for anyone - adults, adolescents and children. No skill in the arts is needed; working creatively can be really helpful when it is hard to find the right words. Therapy sessions are aimed at helping individuals who are experiencing difficulties in their day to day lives linked to issues such as trauma, relationship difficulties, mental health, self harm, stress, bereavement, special needs and difficulty with communication.

Catharsis has a pool of Creative Arts therapists (Art therapists, Dramatherapists, Music therapists and Dance and Movement Psychotherapists) and we endeavour to find the right therapist for each project or client. All our therapists go through a stringent recruitment process and are fully qualified – this is to at least Masters level; they are required to have the relevant qualifications, DBS clearance and meet standards with regards to skills, behaviour and health set out by HCPC (Health Care Professions Council).

Interventions include:

·       1:1 therapy (Art therapy, dramatherapy, music therapy, dance and movement psychotherapy)

·       Parent and family work
·       Group therapy
·       Workshops and Mental Health Awareness sessions
·       Staff training and Inset
·       Clinical Supervision / Reflective Practice (group or individual sessions)
